DAS Wednesday Juniors threw themselves into an adapted version of Annie this term, using five key scenes as the building blocks for their creative devising. From learning lines to creating lively choreography, DAS brought enthusiasm to classics like “Let’s Go to the Movies” and “Hard Knock Life”.
They were supported by our pilot programme, #MakeItHappen (big thanks to Issy, Hannah, and Amelia!), who helped with lighting and sound. Working with the DAS on these elements really elevated their performance.
We truly believe that giving young people the space to devise around musicals they know and love is so important. It allows them to step into roles beyond performing such as being a directors, choreographers, composers, lyricists and technician. These skills help them as they continue on their artistic journeys.
We are so proud of the Wednesday juniors! A huge thank you to all the parents, grandparents and friends who came and cheered loudly! Thank you for your continued support, you make this possible and we couldn’t do it without you.
