This term, DAS Tuesday juniors threw themselves into an adapted version of Annie, exploring five key scenes that became the heart of their creative process. From learning lines to inventing fun, vibrant choreography, DAS gave so much energy to bringing favourites like “Let’s Go to the Movies” and “Hard Knock Life” to life.
They also had the chance to work with our pilot programme #MakeItHappen (big thanks to Issy, Hannah, and Amelia!), who supported the show with lighting and sound. Seeing how these technical elements can lift a performance gave DAS a real sense of the bigger picture and they absolutely rose to the occasion.
We love giving young people the space to devise around musicals they know and love. It’s not just about performing, here they can step into the roles of directors, choreographers, composers, lyricists and performer (which they love doing!). It’s amazing to watch DAS explore all aspects of theatre and grow their confidence and skills.
We couldn’t be prouder of the group! Every single one of them pushed themselves in so many ways and this really shone through. A huge thank you to all the parents for your ongoing support, you make all of this possible and we’re so grateful to have such wonderful families cheering DAS on!
