Join us with this series of five weekly workshops linked to the theme of the beach with writer and poet Zo Copeland. We’ll explore the seaside element of our local landscape, our connection (or not) to our sandy places, memories and experiences, and the changes happening in these environments.

No experience necessary – whether you’re completely new to writing or a seasoned writer. Maybe you’re looking to start or reconnect with a writing practice… maybe you want to play with words with like-minded people… maybe you want to try something new… maybe you are an experienced writer looking for a place to connect or to take your writing in a new direction.

Who is it for?
Anyone with an interest in writing.

What can I expect?
A safe, encouraging space where you will be guided to write using prompts. Opportunities for sharing, but no pressure to. Expect to surprise yourself!

What is the space like?
The Liberal Club is an open-plan space in the centre of Paignton alongside Nature Nook Pet Shop, with lots of natural light. The building is wheelchair accessible, from the Totnes Road doors.

What shall I bring?
A note book and pencil – or other such writing tools you want to use – you are welcome to bring a tablet or laptop if that’s your preferred way to write, but some of the activities will be paper-based (resources will be supplied for these)
