On 6th June, we visited The Palace Theatre on another Theatre Buddies trip, responding to popular demand. It was a great opportunity to support local amateur dramatics societies and our resident theatre.
An absolute highlight for our team was turning around and spotting members of our Make It Happen crew and DAS members working as part of the technical team. It was incredible to see them in action, operating follow spots to calling the show, they were right in the thick of it and did a fantastic job.
This is exactly what we love to see: young people progressing, building skills, and stepping into real theatre environments with confidence and professionalism.
It was also a fun outing and a great chance for the group to unpick the show, discussing elements they enjoyed and what they might do differently. This is an important skill when watching theatre, understanding that it is subjective, and while one person may love a performance, someone else may feel differently. These conversations are where valuable learning and reflection begin for our next generation of theatre makers.
