Guest Artists in DAS

Celebrating Our Guest Artists at DAS This Term!

At DAS, we love giving young performers the opportunity to learn from industry professionals, and this term has been an absolute treat! We’ve had the pleasure of welcoming three incredible guest artists who have shared their expertise, energy, and passion with each group. Each brought something unique, helping them to grow and experience a range of performance styles.

Paris Selley – Dance with Energy and Precision

We kicked off the term with Paris Selley, a brilliant dancer and choreographer who has toured shows, and now teaches drama at the local college. Paris brought an infectious energy to the sessions, pushing our young performers with fun and dynamic choreography. She taught routines to Friend Like Me from Aladdin, One Short Day from Wicked, and Teacher’s Pet from School of Rock. It was fantastic to see the students being challenged and growing in confidence as they learned from a seasoned industry professional.

Lily Howe – Exploring New Styles in Dance

Next, we welcomed Lily, who is currently completing her MA in Theatre at Exeter University. With her extensive background as both a facilitator and dancer, she brought a fresh and different style to our dance sessions. This diversity in choreography allowed our young performers to experience varied movement techniques and broaden their understanding of dance as a storytelling tool using the dance from ‘Kingdom Dance’ from Tangled.

Morgan Westcott – A Journey Through Singing and Acting

To round off our term, we had the incredible Morgan Westcott join us. With an impressive career that includes touring as both a singer and actor—having performed on cruise ships such as Silver Sea, Marella & Royal Caribbean and recently starring as Buddy in Elf the Musical—Morgan brought a wealth of experience to share with our DAS. Soon to play Grandpa in Willy Wonka at The Princess Theatre in Torquay, he gave our them an insightful glimpse into the world of professional theatre. His sessions were filled with drama games, vocal coaching, and plenty of laughter, leaving a lasting impact on each group.

We are so grateful to Paris, Lily, and Morgan for dedicating their time and talent to DAS this term.

Bringing in guest artists is an essential part of what we do at DAS. It’s not just about learning new skills, it’s about showing young people that the performing arts industry is within their reach. By working with professionals who have achieved incredible things in their careers, DAS gain insight and the confidence to dream big. We want every young person in our groups to know that if they are passionate and dedicated, they can achieve any heights they set their minds to. These guest artists play a vital role in making those dreams feel real and possible.
