The Devil is an Ass (in Torbay)

We would like to invite you to this performance of ‘The Devil is an Ass (in Torbay)’ by DYT Rep Company on Monday 1st December.  

‘The Devil is an Ass’ was a comedy written by Ben Jonson, and first performed in 1616 in London by the King’s Men. This is not the same play.

This December DYT Rep Company bring to Stage Left (Paignton) their very first performance as an ensemble, an adaptation of Jonson’s play set in Torbay and inspired by their experiences of growing up in the South Devon area. This comedic approach to a 400 year-old story, will bring audiences into the ‘bay, or at least a version of it as experienced by Pug, a junior Devil trying to prove his worth to Satan. But Pug, stepping into Torbay to wreak havoc, finds that the havoc has beaten him there…
