ABOUT BEYOND FACE

Beyond Face CIC is a South West-based theatre company founded in 2015 by Artistic Director & CEO Alix Harris. Our vision is to lead the South West into becoming a recognised region that amplifies and celebrates Global Majority* people in the arts and cultural sector. We do this through creating productions, an artist development programme, creative offers for young people and Regional Voices, a space for people who yet don’t see themselves as artists but have stories to tell. Beyond Face’s productions have toured regionally and nationally and their future work aims to continue to bring focus to the region.

ABOUT DOORSTEP YOUTH THEATRE

Doorstep Youth Theatre is for young people aged 14 – 20 who aspire to be professional theatre makers. The group works as a repertory ensemble on a project-by-project basis alongside professional artists to create original theatre. We believe that young people can create incredible professional quality art and Doorstep Youth Theatre is all about giving members of the group the platform to make that happen.

ABOUT DREAMARTS

DreamArts is an outreach charity delivering creative and therapeutic projects in London. Friends From Afar is our programme that offers local young people the opportunity to devise an original performance and tour their work to communities around the UK.

We are thrilled to be partnering with Doorstep Arts and Beyond Face and sharing a work in progress of Friends From Afar’s third show: Love Scripted. Interspersed with a documentary film, Love Scripted follows five characters, each with their own passions, problems, hopes and dreams, as they weave through their various obstacles in search of

something better.

Audience comments from previous events:

“This is great stuff Beyond Face are doing, providing a space and opportunity to underrepresented artists. This feels much more accessible than similar events I have attended at bigger venues.”

“It was truly brilliant working with Doorstep Youth Theatre…The show was on par with the professional touring theatre companies we employ.”
