Our World: A Scratch Event
We are hosting an evening of performances and activities for young people aged 14+, in Stage Left at the Palace Theatre in Paignton.
Expect music and theatre performances that don’t shy away from the hard stuff! Connor Allen will perform a work-in-progress of ‘The Making of a Monster’ which is an autobiographical journey into his teenage years as he makes a decision that will change the fabric of who he is, and the man he will become. Grime music provides the soundtrack to this story about family, heritage and growing up with questions around your identity.
Doorstep Youth Theatre will share a short performance of ‘White Moon’ which has been written, directed and produced by young people from Torbay. This too is a work in progress and DIY is at the core of the event. You are invited to make your own music by having a go at DJing with the awesome Frankie Love who has been performing and playing at free festivals all round the world and that’s the way she likes it – underground.
Vegan food will be provided by Tam’s Kitchen and included in the entry price, and we will be joined by Double Elephant Print Workshop who’ll lead the screen-printing station! Because we care about our world, please bring a t-shirt or tote bag from home to upcycle with original designs by Doorstep members.
There will be a bar serving drinks. If you’re over 18 please bring ID, and remember to drink sensibly. The event will be staffed by the Doorstep Arts team and anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated.
Book a ticket here (ages 14+, limited spaces available)
