Despite it all’ is a poetry event run by Mars Baker, a 22 year old poet from Devon. Their poetry explores a vast range topics such as grief, love, friendship, mental illnesses and LGBT+ pride while focusing on overcoming challenges and hardships. Their set will also include some exclusive pieces from their upcoming book being released later this year. After receiving a 4 out of 4 star review for their book back in 2020, Mars is now taking to the stage to perform their poetry. The event will have a 15 minute interval at halftime.

Mars will be accompanied by two guest poets, Peter Roe and Robert Casey.

Peter is a prize winning poet, writer, film-maker and ‘self confessed nerd’ from Buxton who has taken part in slams across Devon and has two published collections.

Robert is a stand-up poet, writer and performer and has had his work published, exhibited and played across a variety of media. He has performed at numerous festivals, once instigating a poetry moshpit during his set.’
