Homelands After-School Dance Club

This term’s afterschool dance club at Homelands Primary wrapped up with a brilliant sharing session, led by the talented Harriet Loveridge, one of the newest additions to the Doorstep Arts team.

Harriet, known to the children as Ms Harriet, brings a wealth of experience from her background as a dance teacher at Torbay School of Dance, an entertainment manager and a skilled performer with an exceptional singing voice. In just two terms, she has built a strong rapport with the group & school and made a noticeable impact.

This term, the children explored ribbon skills, combining movement with coordination and flow and Harriet ensured that the sessions balanced structured learning with space for creativity and self expression. The photos say it all: focused faces, confident movements and a real sense of ownership among the group.

What stands out most is how Harriet has created a space where children feel encouraged, supported and proud of what they create together. We’re delighted that Harriet will be continuing with us in the autumn term. Her presence has brought something really special to the programme and we’re excited to see how the group continues to grow under her guidance.

Thank you, Ms Harriet!
