On Monday 30th April Doorstep Youth Theatre shared their specially devised scenes, inspired by Claude Monet’s ‘The Water Lily Pond’ which features in the National Gallery and Torre Abbey’s Art on Your Doorstep exhibition currently in place around Torquay.
The group devised three separate scenes inspired by the painting of the bridge, choosing to create a journey through time with the first scene taking place in 1926, the second in 2026, and the third in 2126.
Creating the three scenes gave the group an opportunity to work on character creation and diversity, consider generational differences, and adapt one short scene into three.
