Celebrating the end-of-term performances by the Doorstep Arts Studio Courses (DAS) Tuesday and Wednesday Junior groups. These groups are for young people age 7-11, and they meet at Stage Left, Palace Theatre, Paignton. To find out how to enrol, please visit our Take Part pages.
This term, our DAS Juniors group brought a beautiful piece to life, drawing inspiration from the Life on the Edge project. Their performance centred around the story of a bug hotel, a little girl called Dotty wanting the bugs to have a space to all live in harmony!
The young participants have worked brilliantly over the Summer term, devising scenes, shaping their own ideas and collaborating with thoughtfulness. Their creativity has truly taken flight in this project, with the goal to perform the full performance in the Autumn term. The sharing was a beautiful snippet of the funky dance routines they learn over the term.
And just look at those costumes- well done Parents & Carers!! The children wore them with confidence and pride and it really lifted the whole performance.
We also want to give a heartfelt shoutout to our fantastic assistant T, who is part of our Pathways programme. Your support each week has made a real difference, not just behind the scenes, but in the way the children feel seen, encouraged and cared for. You’re a valuable part of the team and the impact you’re having is clear in every session.
A huge well done to all the DAS Juniors for their hard work and adaptability this term. We’re so proud of what you’ve created together and we can’t wait to see where your ideas take you next.
