Come From Away Theatre Buddies Trip – Nov 2025

This November we took a group to watch ‘Come From Away’ performed by TOPS Amateur Dramatics Society, staged at The Palace Theatre, and it’s safe to say there was nothing amateur about this show.
For those new to the story, the show tells the incredible true events of nearly 7,000 passengers unexpectedly diverted to the small town of Gander, Newfoundland, in the wake of 9/11 and the remarkable kindness they received from the local community. It’s a powerful reminder of humanity at its best.

Theatre Buddies had the joy of bringing a group to see this moving and uplifting production and the performers really didn’t disappoint. The exceptional vocals from a truly talented cast were absolutely outstanding from start to finish. The lighting design by Dominic Jeffreys was completely stunning, elevating every moment on stage. And a huge well done to Emily Whittet for directing such a beautiful, complex show with so many moving parts.

Thank you to Gary Abraham and the Palace Theatre for helping us book group tickets and making the trip possible.

We’re excited to continue making theatre accessible and affordable for young people who might not otherwise have the chance to experience it. Here’s to many more amazing theatre adventures ahead!
