We are delighted to share that Stowaway Theatre are touring their fabulous production of Cluck! to three libraries this July. They’ll be in Paignton Library on Saturday 25 July, Barnstaple Library on 28 July and Exeter Library on 29 July. Here’s a sneak peek at their recent rehearsal at Emmanuel Hall in Exeter.
This touring extension of Cluck! has been co-supported by the First Steps Touring Bursary, thanks to support from collaborating partners the Exeter Northcott Theatre, Alibi, Doorstep Arts and Villages in Action. The tour venue partners (Libraries Unlimited) have also been invaluable in bringing this tour to life.
What do you get when you cross a headless chicken, a hoedown, and a heap of outrageous farmyard fun? You get CLUCK! – the brand-new musical comedy from Devon’s Stowaway Theatre.
Inspired by the unbelievable true story of Mike the Headless Chicken – who lived for 18 months without a head in 1940’s Colorado – this musical romp is packed with live music, puppetry, audience games, and more chicken puns than you can shake a drumstick at.
Expect: A farmyard chorus like you’ve never seen before… Banjo-pickin’, foot-stompin’ live music… Comedy sketches and chicken-themed chaos… Puppetry and playful audience interaction… And the most legendary bird in history – Mike the Headless Chicken!
Stowaway Theatre is a female led actor-musician theatre company based in Devon. Formed in 2023, they create exciting actor-musician theatre inspired by historical true stories that have either been lost, forgotten or just haven’t had the platform they think they deserve! Their debut show ‘40 Elephants’ had its first performance in early 2024 (with the support of Arts Council England) and they are keen to continue growing our shows and company with the aim of bringing high quality Actor-Musician theatre to the South West and beyond.
