One of the great joys of my working life is my role serving as the coordinator and chairperson of the Torbay Arts in Schools Network.
This group began as a rapid-response during Covid. It was born from a sense of urgency, and an immediate and pressing need. It first manifested as an idea about how to support children, young people & schools in our regional Torbay What Next? meetings, but it quickly took on its own life, with a small group of us meeting on Zoom across 2020. That group grew and grew and grew – largely through word-of-mouth.
The open door policy has led to a widening of the membership and a warm, welcoming and inclusive approach.
In 2021, the network formally began to serve as the Torbay Local Cultural Education Partnership.
With 45 members, spanning across the education sector and arts & culture sector, the TASN meetings have become a place of sharing, celebration, trouble-shooting, collaborative planning, scheming & dreaming together.
Monday 22 May 2023 marks the three year anniversary of this network.
As a special anniversary celebration, it is my delight to share publicly the TASN Impact Report for 2020-2022.
