The IACF Young Writers’ Exchange 2022
Doorstep Arts are calling for young writers aged 8-18 to take part in their Young Writers’ Exchange this Summer.
Working in two groups, 8 – 13 years and 14 – 18 years, we will create our own stories, poems, scripts and songs using a range of exercises and games, and develop them for a relaxed performance.

Final pieces will be shared at Torre Abbey with a supportive audience alongside young writers from the brilliant Beyond Face – a Theatre company providing opportunities for artists of the Global Majority to live, work and thrive in the South West Theatre Sector.
There will also be an additional exchange day and sharing in Plymouth this year with Beyond Face for the 14-18 writers group.
This project will be inspired by the work of critically acclaimed author Alex Wheatle (https://www.alexwheatle.com) and explore themes of ‘unseen places, unheard people and untold stories’. It will be led by members of the Doorstep Arts team: Sam Parker, Sonia Thakurdesai and Hollie Uzzell.

DATES:Creating stories: Wednesday 17th, Thursday 18th, Friday 19th August 10AM – 1.30PM
Torbay exchange day and sharing with Beyond Face: Saturday 20th August 10AM – 5PM
Plymouth exchange day and sharing with Beyond Face: Tuesday 23rd August 11AM – 7PM
