The Quest

Episode 1: Katherine Johnson

Welcome to episode 1. The Quest is a participatory audio play. It’s best enjoyed as a family and children shouldn’t be left unattended.

For a fully immersive experience, you need to gather a few simple props. Don’t worry, nothing fancy and we’ll tell you what to do with them. You will soon get the idea.

For this episode you need to be sitting on chairs, in a round, or facing each other if you are a pair. If you’re alone, sit in the middle of a room.

You will need:

  • A washing up bowl, or a large salad bowl or Tupperware.
  • One glass each. One of them should be half-full with water.
  • One small piece of cardboard, large enough to cover the glass, but not too large, you can just cut a box of cereals, or if you have a cardboard coaster, that’s great.
  • A pair of headphones each. If you don’t have headphones, take a banana, a carrot or even a pen: just as long as you’ve got one item each.
