2019 Winter term has been a great 11 weeks for all our DAS groups. The children explored the exciting world of Roald Dahl this term. They learnt about his stories, we discussed narratives that had been adapted into musicals, how he created his own language and how anything can be possible as an author. This sparked their imagination in ways we couldn’t have imagined. The children’s interests navigated to recreating well-known stories and adapting character they loved. They created songs inspired by characters, created choreography influenced by his words and how, as performers, we can encourage an audience to read more through a performance. We looked at songs that were linked with reading and worked on creating a sharing for all the parents and carers at the end of the term.
